Description: s a girl growing up in New York City in 1914, Rebecca celebrates treasured traditions passed down through her Russian-Jewish family. With a little creativity, Rebecca learns how to stay true to her heart as she follows her dreams in the big city. We will have discussions, activities and food as it relates to the story and period of history. The older and younger girls will be divided for discussion time. Please obtain the Rebecca series which is available at most bookstores and libraries. The first two weeks, we will cover "Meet Rebecca". Dolls are very welcome in class, but not necessary. Description: Learn about your Solar System from Space Science 4 Schools Teacher - Patti Poston and co-teacher - Kathy Esau. We will explore our solar system: the sun, earth/moon relationship, planets and learn about telescopes. The kids will put their own scope together and learn to use them (each scope will require a tripod - not included). In addition, we will schedule a Friday or Saturday constellation and telescope viewing night.
Requirements for class: Must be able to read and write on their own. Each student will be required to make a 3-minute or less presentation on a solar system object. There will be some homework.

Description: Marissa Crook, who is 15 years old and has 9 years of ballet experience, will be teaching this ballet class. 4-8 year old ballerinas will become familiar with traditional ballet warm-up exercises and stretches, barre and center work, with some fun activities as well. All the ballerinas will be performing in a mini-recital the last day of co-op. Parents and family are invited to attend. We will be working on this recital choreography throughout the 10 weeks. Please bring: ballet shoes with tights or socks and a water bottle. Hair must be in a bun or one ponytail in the back for long hair or 2 pigtails for very short hair. Suggested dress: leotard, princess or fairy dress-up, or t-shirt and shorts. Limited to 10 students.

Description: This is a two-hour, high school physics class: one hour lecture and one hour lab. We will meet for 32 weeks, so we will start early (Sept 9th), go through December and January and end in May 2011. This class uses very advanced math skills and is recommended for 11th and 12th grade. High school chemistry is also a prerequisite. Students who take this class will be well prepared for college physics. We will be using Exploring Creation with Physics, 2nd edition, by Jay Wile.
