The Japanese Abacus is a tool that uses a system of beads to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide small and large numbers alike. The greatest advantage this system has over the one used in the USA is that a student can perform these calculations in their head without the use of the abacus. Thus eliminating the need for a calculator. This class will teach the 10 beginner steps needed to use the abacus. Students will also learn the basics of “Anzan” which stands for Mental Calculations.
