We will learn how scientists use forensics to solve crimes. The last lesson will be a crime that the students will solve using what they have learned. Some of the topics we will cover include: fingerprinting, shoe prints, handwriting analysis, observations and reasoning, DNA extraction, and forensic anthropology (with parents permission).
Supplies needed for class: pencils, paper, 3x5 cards, transparent tape, magnifying glass, licorice, toothpicks, small marshmallows, rubbing alcohol, dish detergent. There may be a few more items.
